Pattaya is ready to welcome 50,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world when Burapa Bike Week kicks off again Feb. 12-13, Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh said.

Ronakit was speaking Jan. 26 outside the Eastern National Indoor Sports Stadium on Soi Chaiyapruek 2 in Jomtien Beach where the festival will be held.

Prasan Nikaji, president of Siam Motorbikes and head of the Burapa Motorcycle Club, said earlier that the event this year will focus more on music than bikes, with Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thai scheduled to headline a local band both days.

Pattaya is ready to welcome 50,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world when Burapa Bike Week kicks off again Feb. 12-13.

The Big Bike Club will campaign for riding motorcycles to reduce pollution and advocate helmet use.

Ronakit said it will be another way to stimulate tourism and the economy to Pattaya and Thailand. It also will connect Pattaya to other regions and members of ASEAN countries now that the ASEAN Economic Community has been launched.
