Pattaya officials and community leaders put their heads together to begin crafting individual development plans for each of the city’s 42 neighborhoods.

Deputy Mayor Vichien Pongpanit and city council members met Jan. 29 with 210 residents representing all of Pattaya’s communities to lay out the framework of the 2018 Community Plan.

Each neighborhood will develop and submit to the city a plan laying out development goals and problems that residents want city hall to fix.

The January meeting was aimed at laying out the scope of the project and brainstorming ideas about how to solve problems such as flooding and drugs.

Pattaya has allocated 70,000 baht to help communities get underway with planning.

All the individual plans will be submitted to the city and merged into Pattaya’s overall development plan.
