One killed in Pattani roadside bombing

PATTANI, Feb 25 - A volunteer Thai army ranger was killed and three others were wounded in a roadside bomb ambush while on patrol duty in Mae Lan district of this southern border province.

Police rushed to inspect the scene after an explosive device hidden in a motorcycle was detonated, killing the ranger and wounding three others. The incident took place while they were on patrol on Leab Chonprathan Road in Mae Lan district.

The dead ranger was identified as Kovit Chitbutra, 29, while three injured victims were sent to Mae Lan Hospital for treatment.
