The ongoing project to bury electrical wires on North Road will be halted through April 20 to accommodate Songkran traffic.

Pattaya spokesman Pinit Maneerat said that the construction halt is being enacted to ensure people can use the major artery into the city without delay.

The Provincial Electricity Authority already has removed large machinery and parts of the road that had been dug up is being patched to ensure a solid roadway for vehicles.

The Phettrakul Junction to North Pattaya Road will be blocked off as authorities suggest road users do a U-turn at the Dolphin Roundabout instead for safety.

Four lanes are already available for usage but what are left are the facilities on the center traffic island. Barriers also will be put up in the center of the road for safety reasons.
