According to Chatchai Promlert, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department Director-General, the high air pressure coming from China is blanketing the upper part of Thailand, causing provinces in the North, Northeast, East, and Central plain to experience a drop in temperature. According to him, the temperature has dropped 5-7 degrees Celsius, with the mercury in the northern area plunging as low as 16 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the southern provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pattalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat have been warned against forthcoming rains during December 2-3, caused by the low air pressure coming from the South China Sea. The director also urged residents in risk-prone areas to be on alert for flash floods.
