Although 1,000 helmets weren’t enough for every student, the organizers will conduct a survey of how many more are needed and ask donors for more cash.

Wichearn said approximately 70% of students come to school on a motorbike.

Mai said that the majority of residents in general are using motorbikes. and even very young children are riding along with their relatives, but are rarely seen wearing helmets.

This is why the safety campaign was begun, to raise the awareness of potential dangers and accidents. Motorbike accidents have become common in Pattaya and the majority involve students who aren’t wearing helmets.
