NCPO to quickly draft a reconciliation roadmap

BANGKOK, 30 May 2014, - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has assigned various agencies to whip up their respective reconciliation roadmap while handing down policies to pave way for a general election. 

The Royal Thai Army Deputy Spokesperson Colonel Winthai Suwaree revealed that the NCPO has not yet appointed an interim Prime Minister and government as it wanted to devote the current time to the maintenance of peace and order with a focus on addressing immediate sufferings of the citizens and establishing a national reconciliation center.

Meanwhile, Deputy Leader of the NCPO Police General Adul Sangsingkeaw has instructed related units to quickly draft a national reconciliation roadmap to be proposed to the NCPO Leader General Prayuth Chan-Ocha. Police General Adul, who has recently been appointed to the Prime Minister’s Office to deal with special affairs, also instructed heads of government units to urgently draw up improvement plans for their respective units within the next 15 days.

Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Army Deputy Spokeswoman Colonel Sirichan Ngathong revealed that General Prayuth had handed down a 3-phase administrative guideline to all government units, which includes pushing forward the normal administrative strategy, stabilizing the situation in the country, and ultimately paving ways for the general election.
