Suphanburi, 25 August 2014 – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is moving to put into practice the program of distance learning via satellite introduced by His Majesty the King. Suphanburi province has been selected as the model for the project.

Today, Lt-General Surachet Chaiwong, who is in charge of social psychology under the NCPO, chaired the Distance Learning via Satellite Education Management Training project at Vasidtee Hotel, Suphanburi province in tribute to His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary on December 5th, 2014.

The distance learning via satellite method was developed to help students at small-sized schools with a shortage of teachers and learning materials, to be able to access a proper range of educational opportunities like other students.

The Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission Kamol Rodklai said that Suphanburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 had implemented the method fully and found that the learning results, especially NT and O-Net scores have increased markedly. The NCPO, therefore, ordered the Ministry of Education to roll out the project nationwide within the second semester of this year.
