NCPO allocates Bt15 million budget for those making the Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia

BANGKOK, 18 August 2014  – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has allocated a Bt15 million budget to help cover the travel costs for Thai Muslims who plan to attend the Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, and the first flight will depart on 27 August. 

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture said that after the meeting of the Hajj Affairs Committee, the board was informed that Thai Airways will provide flights from Narathiwat for 590 passengers and 2 flights from Hat Yai International Airport travelling to Madinah, Saudi Arabia, with the first flight departing on 27 August morning.

There are approximately 10,400 pilgrims preparing for the trip from Thailand.
