The Royal Thai Navy rescued three crew members of a tourist boat being battered by high seas in Sattahip Bay.

Sert Kawadee, Kusol Poonsaritwat, and Chatchai Noiset swam with the aid of guide ropes between the Sakulwaree, an excursion boat that took tourists on fishing trips, and the HTMS Suphairin about 16 nautical miles from Samae San Feb. 7.

The Royal Thai Navy was called in to rescue three crew members of a boat being battered by high seas in Sattahip Bay.

The captain and two other crewmen remained on board the flagging vessel in hopes of bringing it back to port, despite the risk of sinking.

The Sakulwaree was spotted around 2.30pm by a 1st Naval Area Command patrol helicopter out of the navy’s U-Tapao air field. It was being battered by 2-meter swells as it tried to get back to Bang Saray. No tourists were aboard.
