The Air and Coastal Defense Command donated a million baht for construction of a main hall at Sattahip’s Wat Pa Yup in the name of the “Father of the Thai Navy.”

Rear Adm. Jongkol Meesawad presided over the May 19 Abhakara Day ceremony to present the donation to Abbot Sangkakarn Buraphathid.

He said navy sailors and officers banded together to raise funds for the hall and made the donation in the name of Prince Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak, whose death is commemorated each year on May 19.
