Roads leading to Lan Po Public Park were jammed early on Dec. 31 as people prepared for the fireworks and music at the official Nongprue event. Banglamung Police were out in force keeping traffic flowing and parking scofflaws at bay.

Seller Nattakorn Meeboonchuy said business had been strong since Dec. 28, with many buying seafood as gifts before heading off for the provinces. She expected to run out of stock by Jan. 1.

The Jae Lod grill service also said it had been busy since Christmas.
