The Disability Act, which was passed in 2007, requires both private and government sectors to employ one disabled person for every 100 employees they have. Section 35 of the Act suggests that if employment is not possible, disabled people should be allowed to make a living by selling items on the property, or a temporary position or training offered in whichever way to help them start a career.
Both government and private sectors are expected to employ altogether 50,000 more of disabled people before the end of October. The Ministry of Labor is currently conducting a survey on people with disability as their personal information will help the Department of Employment seek the jobs that match their skills.
