As Pattaya’s streets drained, Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and city officials began the job of surveying the damage to both the city’s residents and property.

Around 1 p.m. Sept. 17, Itthiphol led a delegation of administrators, city council members and soldiers to the Soi 5 Thanwa neighborhood near Sukhumvit Soi 45.

They collected data on the damage caused and will discuss compensation to be handed out with the government, which has declared Pattaya a disaster zone.
