Kanjanaburi unveils kiosks, educates locals about ASEAN

KANJANABURI, 2 Mar 2015,  Kanjanaburi Provincial Administration Office has unveiled kiosks offering information on ASEAN, in its bid to help the locals prepare for the arrival of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and open the gateway to Dawei.

The kiosks are installed on the 2nd floor of the province’s Robinson Department Store as part of the administration’s plan to arm the locals with the knowledge of ASEAN and Dawei.

According to the officials from the province’s Education, Religion, and Culture Office, the plan aims at offering online lessons, teaching basic English, Chinese, Burmese, Korean and Japanese to the locals through internet, and providing an interactive media giving information about ASEAN member countries to interested individuals.

The officials said the campaign would better prepare residents for the arrival of the AEC
