The project is aimed at creating employment opportunities, boosting the economy, and improving the quality of life for disabled people in accordance with Clause 33 of the 2007 constitution pertaining to the promotion of the quality of life for the disabled.
Over 140 positions for jobs such as telephone operators, cashiers , clerks, human resource officers, and technicians will be offered at the fair. Courses in skill development for people with disabilities will be available at the fair, which will be held at the Eden Zone, level 3, Central World Plaza; during the 4th-5th September 2013.
According to Mr.Pravit Khiengpol, Director General of the Department of Employment, this type of labor market fair for the disabled will be held throughout Thailand in order to boost employment opportunities for the disabled. Currently, 20,000 disabled employees are employed in several industries. Although the demand for the disabled workforce is expected to reach 47,000, it is still a fraction of the 700,000 disabled people of working age in the country.
