According to Interior Inspector-General’s Office figures, Chonburi had been allocated 415.8 million baht for 1,101 projects, of which 30 have been canceled. In addition, 994 projects already have had their budgets withdrawn, leaving only 77. They are all set for completion by Oct. 1.

At the district level, 380 projects were approved, of which 344 have yet to be completed under the 64-million-baht budget.

Two environment-related issues were on the agenda as well. Wichit said only Koh Sichang remains a drought disaster area and that 20.4 million liters of water have been distributed free to residents under a 3-million-baht budget.

Finally, work to eliminate hyacinth growth in canals in five districts remains incomplete. While some waterways have been cleared, all the work is expected to wrap by the end of May in Phan Thong, Phanat Nikhom, Ban Bung, Nong Yai, and Bo Thong districts. (CPRD)
