House and Senate Speakers meet Chinese top advisor

BANGKOK, 24 April 2012 – Thailand’s House and Senate Speakers have met with China’s top political advisor to exchange knowledge on the administration of the parliament and assistance for the government. 

Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Jia Qinglin has joined a discussion with Thai Senate Speaker Teeradej Meepien and House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont.

As China’s top advisor, Mr Jia expressed his willingness to support knowledge exchange with the Thai Speakers to improve the parliament system and strengthen the government.

Mr Somsak said the Thai-Chinese relations have been developed for a long time, adding that both should use this special relationship to tighten cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure, and culture.

Meanwhile, Mr Teeradej affirmed that Thailand is willing to cooperate with China in the missions to ensure peace and improve the stability and development of Asia.
