According to a report by the Meteorological Department, heavy downpours can be expected across the country today. Fishermen must take precautions while at sea during this time. The report also suggested that Typhoon Jelawat, which is moving from Okinawa toward mainland Japan, should not have any impact on Thailand.
Heavy rains and thunderstorms can be anticipated in most parts of the country except for the North where 40% of the region will remain dry in the next few days. The tourist provinces of Phuket, Ranong and Phang-nga will experience heavy downpours. As for Bangkok and its vicinity, 80% of the area will be wet.
