According to Disease Control Department Director-General Dr Pornthep Siriwanarangsan, although the fatal coronavirus has not been reported in Thailand, the department has instructed its officials to warn Thai pilgrims traveling to the Arab region to be cautious.
Dr Pornthep said the virus is not as easily transmitted as many believed and the World Health Organization has yet to issue any warning on the virus.
People are advised to eat hot food and wash their hands often. They are urged to immediately see doctor if they develop some flu symptoms such as cough and rhinorrhea for more than two days.
Coronavirus previously killed a Qatari man, whose symptoms included renal failure and acute respiratory syndrome. The victim had visited Saudi Arabia before his illness.
