Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnok went to Narathiwat to see off Hajj pilgrims who were traveling to Mecca. The Ministry of Transport provided flights to help the 473 Hajj pilgrims get to Saudi Arabia for the annual gathering.
The government also provided influenza vaccines for the pilgrims to be physically ready for the lifetime journey.
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. This pillar is obligatory for every Muslim, male or female who are physically and financially able to make the Hajj once in their lifetime. Hajj is an ultimate form of worship as it involves the spirit of all the other rituals and demands of great sacrifice.
