About 300 senior citizens learned how to use dharma to put them in a good mood at a lecture in Pattaya.

City health promotion chief Punnapa Thongphun welcomed Sunthorn Patee, assistant abbot of Nimmanoradee Temple in Bangkok to the Feb. 7 Pattaya City Elderly Club meeting at city hall.

Together the seniors prayed, paid respect to Buddha and listened to dharma lessons from Sunthorn.

In his talk, titled “Good Mood Dharma”, the monk talked about how scripture can promote fun, happiness and touch the heart to help people live in harmony.

Dharma, he said, will cure the heart to be generous, kind, and moral. Moreover, it can make the mind follow the same principles.

Sunthorn said today’s world is full of urgency, competition, but dharma can relieve stress. He also encouraged the elderly to practice other activities to ease tensions, such as listening to classic songs under a big tree, playing with pets and keeping a diary.
