BANGKOK, 10 August 2011  – Education Minister Worawat Ua-apinyakul is preparing to restructure the national education system by integrating the body of knowledge and making it up-to-date to the changing world.

Speaking about the education policy, Mr Worawat elaborated that the learning and teaching systems must be restructured to make them suitable to each local area in order to make sure that graduates will be able to find jobs after completing their education.

The minister added that the national education system must be updated in line with global changes and must be inter-connected among class intervals such as between high school and university education.

Regarding the policy of his Pheu Thai Party to give tablets to primary students, Mr Worawat admitted that the policy is aimed to keep Thai students in the same pace with global changes, but he admitted that the devices are not as important as the restructuring of the national education system.

The minister also confirmed that he will be able to work with his two deputies Bunruen Srithares and Surapong Ung-ampornwilai because they are all from the Pheu Thai Party similar to him.
