Democrat Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Sunday the party viewed that the meeting on 20 January was called in a bid to justify the government’s legitimacy to remain in office as well as the 2 February election. The Democrat party agreed with many organizations that reform would be successful if those who took part in it had credibility and sincerity—the two qualities which the incumbent government lacked, Mr Abhisit said.
The meeting on Monday is a sequel to the 16 January meeting organized by the government. All political parties were invited including the Democrat.
Mr Abhisit also blamed for Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra for being ignorant about violence against the protesters, saying that she had never responded to the matter.
