According to Special Investigation Department chief and CMPO secretary-general Tarit Pengdith, PDRC leader Suthep Thuangsuban has rejected government's efforts to negotiate on their plans to disrupt the coming Sunday’s national polls and to continue the seizure of key government offices.
Mr Tarith said the CMPO will continue to bring both sides to the negotiating table.
He also commented on the Civic Court’s ruling on possible revocation of the emergency decree, saying that if an injunction is filed, the possibilities of invoking the Internal Security Act will be discussed at a cabinet meeting.
Mr Tarith warned the public that any attempts to derail the general election would be punishable by a jail term of up to 5 years.
The CMPO has already assigned more security personnel to guard polling stations on Sunday.
