SAMUT PRAKAN, 20 Mar 2015 – Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office and Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office M.L. Panadda Dissakul has implored officials to help address the corruption issue in the country, saying their contribution would tremendously improve the nation’s competitiveness in time of the ASEAN Economic Community.

The minister yesterday made the call at a special seminar of civil servants and government employees who were participating in the ministry’s first batch of the anti-corruption training course held at the Ancient City in Muang District, Samut Prakan.

M.L. Panadda said that it was everyone’s duty to eliminate the corruption issue. He stated citizens should keep an eye out for the problem and must report to authorities whenever they learn about it.

The Minister said unless the problem is being tackled seriously, Thailand would never be able to compete with other nations when the ASEAN Economic Community arrives at the end of this year.

Yesterday’s seminar was intended to give the participants experiences and knowledge about corruption in the civil service as well as anti measures, while promoting the value of honesty as a shield against malpractices.
