Chonburi plans to open two new health centers as part of a 10-million-baht project to improve the quality of life for the province’s disabled residents.

Deputy Gov. Phawat Lertmukhda chaired a Jan. 5 meeting to approve the construction of the new centers, which were authorized under the Health Development of the Disabled Act of 2007 and its 2013 amendments.

The law stipulates that foundations responsible for the care of the disabled must be standardized and approved so that local centers to care for the disabled can be opened.

Chonburi recently approved the spending of 10 million baht for two new health-development centers, as well as low-interest loans and funding of occupational training courses. (CPRD)
