The Meteorological Department's northern office on the same day issued a warning against cold weather expected from the middle of November to the middle of January. According to the office, heavy fog can be expected in some areas and very cold weather will be experienced on certain days in the North. It indicated that the peak cold period will be during late December and early January, when the lowest temperature in the upper portion of the North is expected to be between 14-16 degrees Celsius. However, those in the mountaintops will likely experience lowest temperatures of between 5-10 degrees Celsius.
The upcoming cold season, forecast to bring colder weather than the previous season, is expected to end in the middle of February.
