Cabinet appoints Suranand as PM’s secretary-general

BANGKOK, 6 June 2012 – The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr Suranand Vejjajiva as Prime Minister’s Secretary-General and Ms Sansanee Nakpong as Government Spokesperson.

Acting Government Spokesperson Anusorn Eiamsa-ard announced that the Cabinet has named Mr Suranand Vejjajiva Secretary-General to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. Mr Suranand is a member of the 111 former executives of the now-dissolved Thai Rak Thai Party, whose five-year ban from politics has just ended. He was also Prime Minister’s Office Minister during the Thaksin administration.

The Cabinet also approved the appointment of Ms Sansanee Nakpong as the Government Spokesperson. For other positions, Mr Pratuan Kiewrit was appointed as Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, Mr Krit Srifa as Secretary to PM's Office Minister Woravat Auapinyakul, and Mr Silapachai Jarukasemrattana as Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport.
