At 12:30pm on March the 24, 2016, residents of Soi VC South Pattaya reported that a 3 storey building had suddenly collapsed.

One of the witnesses had been able to use his mobile phone to capture the moment the building started to fall and how it caught 3 electric posts, electric cabling and pulled them down with it.

One of the posts crashed through a hut used my local motorbike taxis, however luckily nobody was injured during the incident.

Local residents informed our reporters that the building was currently being demolished to make way for a new project and the current owner had hired private contractors to demolish it, the windows and roof had already been removed and now only the walls and the supports still had to be dealt with, however the contractor was using a an excavator which was jack-hammering on the ground floor.

Bystanders stated that the shaking and digging up of the ground by the excavator had caused the building collapse, however this matter will be looked into further by the police.

In the meantime repairs are been done to restore electricity to the neighborhood and no doubt the owner of the land will be asked to pay for the work and for new electric posts which cost roughly 50,000 baht each.
