A British expat entangled in a half-dozen criminal cases has been jailed again on defamation charges and for overstaying his visa by 587 days.

Andrew Ronald Matthews, 52, was taken into custody July 5 by Chonburi immigration police at his View Talay condominium in Jomtien Beach on charges of defaming and harassing Thai nationals online. They also discovered he had overstayed by 1 year and 10 months.

The overstay dates back to November 2014 when the Wolverhampton native has jailed on another arrest warrant. He also was put behind bars in March this year in another case.

The immigration website stated that he has six active cases pending against him in the courts.
