According to Nares Boonpiam, acting director of the BMTA, service routes have been remapped to ensure conveniences for the more than 850,000 commuters who daily rely on its 137 bus lines affected by the big rallies. The BMTA has coordinated with several agencies, especially the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) to rearrange 24 entrances and exits and add extra lanes to allow buses to make U-turns back onto expressways.
Moreover, 41 parking lots have been designated as connecting points for commuters who would like to take the BTS skytrains, MRT subways, or boat services; shuttle bus services will also be provided for those people. The parking lots will be able to accommodate up to 18,000 cars per day.
