BANGKOK, 30 April 2014  – Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva's campaign to find a solution to the country's current political crisis might be taken as a sign that all political parties will partake in the upcoming general election, according to Bhumjaithai Party leader Anuthin Chanwirakun.

Anuthin held a meeting of his party's executive members and former members of parliament on Tuesday, during which he thanked the party's legal team for its effort in successfully arguing against a complaint filed to the Election Commission, which could have otherwise resulted in the party's dissolution.

He also urged every party member to keep alert and constantly be aware of their tasks as politicians, citing the recent annulment of the polls in saying that an election can happen anytime.

On the topic of whether there will be more problems if People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters obstruct the polling again, Mr. Anuthin said there should not be a problem so long as every party enters the race. He said Mr. Abhisit's stance could probably be taken as a good sign for Thai politics, adding that a decision by Mr. Abhisit to run in the general election would be likened to a promise that all parties will field candidates in the poll.
