The poll, conducted by the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), found that over 75% of Thai farmers have been happier with their farming career.
The survey also shows that 38% of Para rubber farmers and 31% of sugar cane farmers are the happiest while 48% of rice farmers and 33% of cassava farmers said they have been reasonably happy.
According to the BAAC poll, factors contributing to Thai farmers’ happiness include stability in their farming career and the happiness of their families.
However, surveyed farmers said they have been concerned about such issues as low produce prices, higher costs, rapidly-changed weather and the lack of water sources.
