Army Commander in Chief General Prayuth Chan-Ocha yesterday expressed his opinion on the Phra Viharn case, which would reach its critical point on November 11,when the ICJ announced its ruling. He confirmed that the army was ready for any situation, saying that he had instructed authorities along the Thai-Cambodian border to step up security measures. In addition, he also urged officials to inform the locals of the latest development and the nation's stance, in order to ensure their safety.
As for the relations between the two nations, the bond of Thailand and Cambodia remains strong, citing talks have been continued among official of both nations, especially military officials along borderlines, added the C-in-C.
He also assured the public that the ICJ's ruling on the case would not affect the military relations of the 2 countries, expressing his confidence that there would be no violence as an aftermath. He, however, hoped the peoples would be able to accept the outcome, regardless of how it turned out.
