Amnat Charoen celebrates 20th anniversary

AMNAT CHAROEN, 1 December 2013 Amnat Charoen has celebrated its 20th year anniversary as the 75th province of Thailand on Saturday. 

A grand celebration is being held during the weekends to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of Amnat Charoen as a province after being separated from Ubon Ratchathai on December 1st, 1993. Parades, shows, the Red Cross Fair, and merit-making ceremony were parts of the festivities. The shows and parades were focused on the province’s traditions, customs, and culture.

Over 3,000 people, including residents of all districts and civil servants, joined the opening ceremony of the grand festivity. Besides this, there was a mass ordination of 199 monks in honor of His Majesty the King on the occasion of his 86th birthday anniversary on December 5th, 2013.

The Amnat Charoen 20th year celebration will continue on until December 15th at Wat Selaram in Pathum Ratchawongsa District. The Red Cross Fair is held from now until December 10th in front of the provincial city hall.
