Mr Yukol said on 25 August 2013 in Surat Thani province that the rubber farmers should admit the truth that rubber price depended on the global market. He suggested they develop their priducts and try to cut the costs of production as much as possible. If they wanted to call for mass protests, they must stay within the framework of laws, the minister said.
Rubber farmers from four regions have threatened to take to the streets on 3 September because they are not satisfied with the government's solutions to rubber price drop.
The farmers should use the National Farmers' Council to discuss their problems with the government since the council was recognized by the laws, the minister said.
