More than 80 Pattaya hotels and restaurants were commended for good hygiene as part of the city’s “Clean Food, Good Taste” program.
Deputy Mayor Vichien Pongpanit handed out certificates to chefs from resorts, hospitals and schools at The Siamese Hotel on Third Road Feb. 20.
In all, 82 eateries passed health inspections and were certified as being clean and free of risk of giving guests food poisoning.
The program was begun after the explosion of new hotels and guesthouses over the past several years with city officials saying cases of mass food poisonings hurts the city’s tourism industry.
