2 pilots to fly to 16 countries in honor of HM the King

BANGKOK, 30 May 2011 – Two pilots, one British and one Thai, are ready to take off to 30 cities in 16 countries on 1 June to collect well wishes for His Majesty the King on the occasion of his seventh cycle birthday anniversary this year. 

As part of the 2nd Global Expedition for the World’s Greatest King project, British pilot Eduardo Loigorri and Thai pilot Theerachat Potisit will fly small planes over a total distance of approximately 27,000 kilometers through 30 cities in 16 different countries. Their departure is scheduled on 1 June in the northern province of Chiang Mai and their journey is expected to last 120 days.

The countries of destination consist of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Greece, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Holland, Morocco, Switzerland and Turkey.

With an aim to commemorate His Majesty the King’s 84th birthday anniversary on 5 December this year, the two pilots have volunteered to represent Thai people residing in the aforementioned countries in expressing their love and loyalty for the revered King by collecting postcards with well wishes from them in person. Those postcards will be brought back to Thailand for exhibitions in Bangkok and Chiang Mai during the auspicious occasion before being presented to His Majesty.
