Re: Almost anyone can own a gun in USA (PM Mailbag Friday, 24 July 2015) – Let’s not forget the Sandra Bland case. A commenter last week stated officer Brian Encinia followed the correct protocol with her arrest. Texas Lt Governor swears there will be no white washing this case and guarantees transparency. Initial inquiries states that Encinia “did not” follow arrest & courtesy protocol and has been assigned to desk duties. (still better than his former job as ingredients supervisor at local ice cream factory.)

Transparency? Why did police take 11 days and a court order before releasing the dash cam? It is now claimed the video has been doctored. 25 minutes into the tape a blue beetle is seen to pass the scene 4 times. The initial video had voices of a bystander who maybe the person filming the incident. That video has been suppressed.

Why was she not put on suicide watch? She claimed she was depressed and it was recorded she attempted suicide in 2014. Why was that altered to read 2015? Why was she placed in a cell without video surveillance? Why was she not sighted for 90 minutes before her body was discovered?

Police fell down on their “duty of care”. Transparency? (Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.
