Re: Songkran mayhem reigns for 10 days (PM April 20) - Exactly. glad to see an article actually mention how bad it is for normal routine business to be conducted. I was in Pattaya once for Songkran and will never do that again and have avoided at least two trips there because my time off from work coincided with Songkran. You just can’t have that big of a mess for so long.

Complaints to city hall were useless. I received no reply from the mayors secretary who was assigned my complaint. It is very unfortunate for bar owners who make a fortune off Songkran as the activities will surely be limited. I am against stopping peoples freedoms like the USA.
