Three youths accused of renting apartments and burglarizing neighbors picked the wrong victim when they allegedly broke into a condo rented by a Pattaya police officer.

Theerapol Khamsinghnok, 20, and two underage boys were arrested June 30 after allegedly stealing a television, stereo, computer and 5,000 baht from a Pattaya condotel unit belonging by a Narcotics Suppression Bureau investigator.

Police said the youths confessed to the burglary and pawning the electronics for cash. They were arrested with two gold amulets, keys to a BMW sedan and motorbike, plus 9 mm bullets.

The suspects were said to confess to renting apartments around Pattaya simply for the purpose of burglarizing neighboring units. The money stolen was used for partying, police said.
