Thieves steal Russian woman’s gold necklace

A police roadblock failed to catch motorbike-riding thieves who snatched a 50,000 baht gold necklace from the neck of a Russian tourist.

Zhuravleva Malina, 28, and Vladislav Malyskin, 29, told police they were walking near the Big C supermarket in South Pattaya when two young Thai men sped by on a Honda motorbike and grabbed Malina’s 18-karat gold necklace with diamond-studded pendant from her neck.

Police threw up roadblocks on Sukhumvit Road to try and catch the thieves, but were unable to catch them.
