A 3-year-old boy died after being attacked by two stray dogs.
Peerpat Hengorakhon suffered fatal bites to the neck and body July 20 in front of his apartment on Soi Bongkot 2. The child was found in a pool of blood, the two canines still standing over the body.
Mother Wannapa Phetmas, 25, said the toddler had gone to the parking lot to retrieve toys from the family truck. Being an area when neighborhood children played, she wasn’t concerned until she heard screams.
Neighbors said the two mixed-breed dogs had belonged to construction workers camped in the area, but the animals had been abandoned after the camp moved. Although residents sometimes fed them, the dogs were said to be aggressive and often chased area residents.
