A Srakaew man was arrested when police found a loaded gun in his truck during a routine checkpoint stop.
Thawatchai Jaengphon, 32, was arrested March 31 near Bali Hai Pier when officers searching his Isuzu pickup found a 38-caliber pistol with six bullets under the seat.
Police said Thawatchai confessed to owning the weapon for self-defense. He was booked on illegal weapons-possession charges.
Thawatchai Jaengphon has been arrested for illegally possessing a firearm within city limits.
