Programs to promote sports and for children with disabilities won funding in the year’s third meeting of the Pattaya Health Security Mutual Fund.

Police Capt. Pornphana Chokthai and Capt. Lapassornda Sathanrakul outlined the “Good Health Through Sports” community-based program to Dr. Prasit Jittiwattanapong, vice president of the fund, at the June 1 city hall meeting. The police officers requested funds to identify target groups, advertising and personnel.

The health-security fund was established to provide insurance for residents through pubic-private partnerships. Projects focus on disease prevention and medical rehabilitation.
