Three people were hurt when a youth-gang member opened fire on an herbal alcohol shop in Pattaya.

Supakit Polsan, owner of the herbs-in-alcohol cart near the Grand Hall Market on Soi Buakaow, was shot in the back May 11 and taken to the hospital before police arrived. Customers Suchada Promraksa, 34, was shot in the leg and Pang Prasertsung, 28, suffered a minor wound to the chest. Both were taken to Banglamung Hospital.

Suchada told police that she and Pang had gotten drunk and began to walk home across the street. In doing so, they cut in front of a youth on a motorbike traveling at high speed. He slammed on the brakes and the cyclist and Pang got into an argument.

Supakit then stepped in to break up the fight and the youth drove away, only to return with several other suspected gang members. They started shooting, hitting the three.

Police were unable to catch the bikers, but are reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify the suspects.
