Pattaya is scaling back its annual Mother’s Day parade, saying a more-orderly procession will honor HM the Queen better on her birthday.

City officials met with representatives from Pattaya’s 42 communities, schools, and private organizations July 15 to outline plans for the Aug. 12 Beach Road parade and celebration at Bali Hai Pier.

Communities and schools can all be represented, just with fewer people, officials said. Also, there will be only one marching band in this year’s parade.

The band from Pattaya School No. 7 will lead the parade and perform the Royal Anthem and Sadudee Maharacha en route to Bali Hai.
