A Singaporean family was rescued after their speedboat sunk off Rayong.

IT businessman Jack Ueng, 56, Mrs. Cherly Tal Ueng, 56, and daughter Reecher Ueng, 24, were aided on Nang Yak Beach in the early evening June 3 by Sawang Pornkusol Foundation rescuers after their boat was swamped by waves and sank on the rocky shoreline near PMY Hotel.

When rescuers arrived, the two women and man were trying desperately to hold onto the boat in what was rapidly turning into a losing effort.

Cherly Ueng said the family had piloted the boat from Koh Larn and had planned to stop at Nang Yak to refuel when a large wave crashed into the boat. All family members were unhurt.
