Shoddy repairs send city workers back to Second Road

Pattaya workers went back to work after their initial efforts to repair storm drains was met with widespread complaints about shoddy workmanship.

Nine Engineering Department workers again took to Second Road June 15 to redo repairs to drain covers after floods of motorists complained about uneven pavement and drains that didn’t lie flat on the pavement.

Sombut Saensee said the department was very busy, fixing three or four road problems a day, and urged the public to be patient in waiting for street repairs.

Motorcyclist Worapot Chaikrajang said that he, for one, was glad to see the workers fix their mistakes, saying he nearly had an accident driving on Soi 11 after the first-round of so-called “improvements.”
